Overview

We are about to embark on Wine Weekend, a series of sumptuous, over-the-top events on February 8th, 9th, and 10th, centered on great food, great wines, and a stellar auction, all to benefit the Margaret Acheson Stuart Society of the Museum of Fine Arts.

Founded on November 29, 1962, the Margaret Acheson Stuart Society composes 438 members of mostly women that work to promote the welfare of the Museum of Fine Arts of St. Petersburg and its many educational programs by raising significant funds and increasing the Museum’s general membership. The Museum of Fine Arts, originally designed by famed Palm Beach architect John Volk, has stood as the central anchor to the downtown St. Petersburg waterfront for nearly fifty years, drawing visitors from every corner of the earth to its comprehensive collection, including works from great artists like Vigée-Lebrun, Monet, Renoir, and Cézanne. This year we also have a new director, Kent Lydecker, who came to us from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he was Director of Education.

We need your support now more than ever to ensure the continuation and preservation of our museum for the enjoyment of all!
